Cheer Day 7

Scatter Kindness
Scatter Kindness

“No kind action ever stops with itself. One kind action leads to another. Good example is followed. A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.”

– Amelia Earhart

This quote seemed fitting for today. Jessica was our delivery woman for Day 7 of Holiday Cheer. Jessica nominated Kristin. She nominated Kristin because over the last several years she has faced several challenges and  Jessica wanted her to know how amazing she thought Kristin was and that a group of us out there that are rooting for Kristin and wishing her well.

Kristin is a mother of three. Her children are 2, 5, and 7. When her oldest son was born his skull plates were fused together so that his brain would not be able to develop normally. He had to undergo surgery to help make sure normal growth and prevent his brain damage or even death. Kristin decided at that time to be a stay at home mom so that she could care for her son. She continued to stay at home until last year when she decided to apply to nursing school. She was accepted and started nursing school which she will hopefully finish in about 6 months. Nursing programs are intensive and she has had to spend  a bit of time on school and that quilt has been a difficult thing for her to handle. Especially since her middle son started kindergarten and has struggled because of his quiet, reserved personality. In addition to her concerns for her son, her mother has also been suffering from health issues. And to add to the stress that has already been put on this family; they have moved twice this year. Despite the struggles that Kristin faces she is always willing to listen and be a good friend to those around her.

Kristin is the perfect person to receive a little Holiday Cheer in her life. Jessica said that she was grateful for her gift and really appreciated the thought to be nominated.

  1. “Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver.”

Your love and kindness is being felt in ways you may never know. Another great example with cheer day 7! Thank you for doing what you are doing. You are teaching so many people to hard things and do the right thing, you will never know. Love you!
