This Monday brings us a nominee I wish was not on the list. I wish she was on the list, just not for the reasons she was nominated.
I wish it was just because of how she has shared with hundreds of kids the love of dance and beat the odds not once but twice, but I truly believe the second time is the charm and that once she beats these odds my hope is that she will be forever cancer free.
Those of you who know Jennifer or have read the paper are familiar with her story. Jennifer is a young wife and mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012. She beat cancer with a positive attitude and found out not long after that she had beat the odds again and was expecting. This summer she gave birth to a little boy.
Unfortunately life is incredibly unfair and she has to beat the odds yet again as she was diagnosed with Leukemia in November of this year.
She has been in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Nancy who nominated, JP, said that Jennifer is beyond amazing. She undergoes her treatments and then spends time on an exercise bike afterwards.
I can not think of a person more deserving of holiday cheer, I just wish it was under much better circumstances.
If you would like to help JP and her family you can donate at https://healthdonor.com/campaigns/cancer-messed-with-the-wrong-momma/. Proceeds go to helping JP and her family cope with the expenses fighting this illness incurs.
JP we are all praying for you,
Michelle and the “Cheer Squad”
