Yesterday was Cheer Day 3 or otherwise known as December 3rd. Our recipient is beyond worthy of a little extra holiday cheer. The recipient of holiday cheer was Carole. Carole is a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Lori nominated Carole, whom she has played Bunco with for twenty years. Lori nominated Carole for many reasons. Carole is devoted to her family and friends and is the first to jump in and help, “whether it is supplying dinner for a friend just out of the hospital or a ride to the doctor, Carole is there with a smile and her quiet wisdom.”
Two years ago, when Carole’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, Carole flew back east to help show her support. She continued that support by organizing a group to take part in the Gilroy Relay for Life in honor of her sister. Carole gathered friends and relatives, named themselves the Bosom Buddies, and they participated in the Relay for Life in addition to raising quite a bit of money to give to the cause. Carole participated in the Relay for Life again this past year.
Recently, life dealt Carole another solemn bout of news when she learned that her daughter had brain cancer. Carole is caring for her daughter who is staying with her while undergoing treatment for this aggressive cancer.
Lori wrote, “Carole is a rock, a hero who inspires all of us who are lucky enough to know her.” I could not agree more. Carole is simply amazing. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Carole, her daughter and their entire family.
Never Give Up,
Michelle and a circle of women who care
